Teen Group

The skills group is an in-person skills group for teens to help build connections and community while strengthening therapeutic skills. A diagnosis is not required to join the group. This group is for ages 12-17 years of age.

The materials in the group will cover communication, social skills, emotion regulation, tolerating distress, body image, and mindfulness. The skills are pulled from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), & Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RODBT).

FAQs

  • Group costs $60 per group with an eight week commitment. After the eight week commitment, the group member is able to continue group as long as they would like. If the group member would like to end coming to group, there is a two week notice that is required.

  • I do not and I am not able to provide a Superbill as that requires me to diagnose your child. Assessments and diagnoses are not services I provide for group attendees. If you are wanting additional services please contact me for individual and family therapy.

  • Yes! Unless you have completed the 8-week commitment and have given me one week notice, you will be charged. I cap the group to ensure that each group member is able to participate, The group fee will be charged to hold the space for your child.

  • Yes! Group attendees will not share their eating disorder diagnoses, number of times they have been in treatment, length of treatment stays, and numbers such as weight and calories.

  • I leave this up to the parents to make this decision. I share with group members that forming friendships outside of group can help their recovery or it can hurt their recovery depending on where they are in their recovery process.
